Airbnb is pulling out all the stops to win over New York officials and make it legal for New Yorkers to rent out their homes. Most recently, the company confirmed that they hired the man who managed Bill de Blasio's successful mayoral campaign. Airbnb wouldn't say what Bill Hyers' role is, but said in a statement, "We're all working to ensure New Yorkers learn about Airbnb and how we make all five boroughs better places to live, work and visit." Regardless of what his job is, this is a pretty big power move. [NYDN; previously]
