The plan for famed hotelier Andre Balazs to open a hotel in JFK Airport's iconic TWA Terminal fell apart, but the Port Authority is not giving up hope. There's definitely a need for lodging at the airport (and all NYC airports), and Capital New York reports that the Port Authority will reissue a request for proposals by the end of next month. The swooping, historic Eero Saarinen-designed building is ripe for redevelopment, but given that it's protected by a landmark designation, any alterations or additions would need to pass muster with the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
