April brought the sad news that the beloved Village haunt Bleecker Street Records would be replaced by a Starbucks, after landlord Good Property Company upped the rent to an absurd $27,000/month. Now, the coffee giant's signage is up at the former location, prepping for an opening later this summer. If you're keeping score, there are currently 283 Starbucks stores in New York.
