Staten Island Manse with Pool, Granite Floors Asks $1.9M

New, 30 comments

Our weekly feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

This 5,060-square-foot mansion on Staten Island's South Shore, recently listed for $1.899 million, is ready for summer. Normally, we delight in poking a little fun at the heated granite floors, superfluous columns, and other ostentatious elements of these outer borough places — and this one is certainly no exception — but when it comes to the pool (also heated), grilling station, and landscaped backyard there's nothing but jealousy. The interiors, particularly the bathrooms, are a different story, however. If, in the near future, the world's granite quarries suddenly find themselves in short supply, it seems fair to blame this house.
