The former queueing area for visitors to the September 11 Memorial may soon be FiDi's newest green space. The 7,000-square-foot lot at Albany Street between Washington and Greenwich streets was reacquired by the city from the Memorial on July 1. Tentative ideas include turning the space into a pedestrian plaza with tables and greenery, where neighborhood happenings occur like film screenings and a long-awaited greenmarket. [TT]
