I'm usually in favor of preserving art deco buildings--this isn't one of them. It's a concrete box. That being said, why would it be so hard for the developer to design a taller art deco building to replace it? Clearly, there is a market for nice art deco residences as is obvious from the record prices at Walker Tower in Chelsea.
