Explore 300 Years of Sunken Ships in NYC's Wreck Valley

Apparently, 20 miles off the coast of the city, there's an underwater area known as Wreck Valley, where the "remnants and the casualties of 300 years of shipping traffic in and out of New York City" rest. Vocativ and a team of divers explored the wreck of the Black Warrier, a cargo and passenger ship that sank in 1851 after running aground. Wreck explorers nowadays not only go into the water to snoop around, but to pick up any sunken artifacts that avail themselves. Past finds on the site include engraved silverware and a 2,000-pound anchor.
