After a series of failed attempts to buy in Bed-Stuy, actress Uma Thurman's brother Mipam Thurman has purchased a semi-detached home at 877 Brooklyn Avenue. That's in East FlatbushyesEast Flatbush. Apparently the starlet's sibling couldn't quite figure out the bidding process when looking in the rising Bed-Stuy. By the time he did, he and his family were priced out of the neighborhood's million-plus commanding brownstones. Mipam told the Post, "Unfortunately, I was outbid and lost a lot of deals. By the time I figured it out, I had been priced out of what I wanted." Thurman's East Flatbush home ran him $549,000, a far cry from sister Uma's new $10 million River House home. With all the activity in neighboring Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Mr. Thurman will probably have walking-distance friends sometime in the not entirely-too-distant future.
