Phil Jackson Drops $4.85 Million on Osborne Three-Bedroom

New, 6 comments

It's too early to judge how basketball legend Phil Jackson is doing in his new position as New York Knicks President, but he's doing great in his new position as Guy Looking For a New York City Apartment, having just closed on a three-bed, three-bath unit in West 57th Street co-op building The Osborne. Jackson paid $4.85 million, just under the original $4.995 million asking price, for the 2,600-square-foot pad, which benefited from a recent renovation at the hands of Ferguson and Shamamian Architects. If Jackson does half as good a job rebuilding the Knicks as Ferguson and Shamamian did on this apartment, we're in for a fun season.

Interestingly, the apartment used to be owned by Alfred and Patsy Kahn, known around these parts for being the (now former) owners of Bernie Madoff's cursed Upper East Side penthouse. Hopefully, there's no bad karma lingering around.
