Landlord Gordon Lau kicked artist group Collective Hardware out of 169 Bowery in 2010, with plans to add a "horizontal and vertical extension" and convert the building into condos (with ground-floor commercial space). Now that his plan is in action, Bowery Boogie is on the scene to report that "vertical extension" roughly translates to "a new beige brick box on the rooftop," set back a good number of feet and not even attempting to match the existing building The real kicker is the smaller gray tumor, which apparently will house a water tower, on top of the larger beige tumor. Even this building's tumors have tumors.
