Quirky East Village Railroad Apartment Wants $850,000

New, 6 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

This one-bedroom in the East Village is a railroad apartment, which is not exactly a point in its favor, but does score it some points on the charming/quirky scale. It's also configurable with two sleeping areas: the bedroom and the lofted space between the living and dining rooms. There's a wall of nicely weathered exposed brick and very tall ceilings — surprising, since it's on the top floor of its five-story co-op building. (Oh yeah, it's also a walkup.) But, since its located on Saint Marks you'll never have to go far for your bongs and plastic sunglasses, so that's a plus. It's asking $850,000.
