Arlene Farkas, the estranged wife of department store heir Bruce Farkas, is set to endure the public humiliation of a foreclosure auction on her 5,000-square-foot home at the tony River House, and instead of just sucking it up and saving her last shred of dignity, she's now begging for the auction to be halted. Her attorneys say the auctioneer is inexperienced, and will sell the unit for less than its $8.5M value. Farkas wants another 60 days on the open market to find a buyer. [NYDN; previously]
