Last week, historic Chumley's received a death row pardon; however, it's unlikely that the long-lived Subway Inn will be granted a similar reprieve. The beloved East 60th Street dive bar opened in 1937, but last month landlord World-wide Group served owner Arsemio Salinas with eviction papers. Now, Salinas and his son have hired a lawyer and are in contact with the Landmarks Preservation Commission, in a longshot attempt to reverse the eviction. They're due in court on Wednesday. [NYDN]
