Poor Door War

New, 31 comments

It seemed that the Poor Door controversy settled down, but a bit in the Times about how 40 Riverside Boulevard developer Gary Barnett feels about the situation should change that. The Times says Barnet is among those who think "that segregating the affordable units allows them to reserve the best location, views and amenities for market-rate condos that can command top price. That income, [developers] say, helps to subsidize the affordable housing construction." Barnett also said they'd be "giving away" the "most valuable units" if the rentals were incorporated into the condo building. [NYT; previously]
