Beloved Roseland Ballroom is Being Decimated Right Now

New, 1 comment

It's been dark days for some concert-going enthusiasts after it was revealed in November that live music institution the Roseland Ballroom on West 52nd Street would be gutted to make way for, surprise!, a high-end residential tower. Now, interior demolition work has started at the two-story venue that opened its doors in the 1950s, DNAinfo reports. Although it has yet to be confirmed, it is speculated that CetraRuddy is behind the incoming tower. An unspecified project called "Midtown Tower" on their website, which describes a 59-story, 468,300-square-foot structure with ground-floor retail, is being eyed as the new building for the site. Watch a video of the destruction after the jump.
