Her Imperial Highness Zeynep Osman, the surviving wife of the would-be heir to the Ottoman Empire, is embroiled in a lawsuit in which the new owner of her building wants to remove her from the $390/month apartment her late husband had been renting since 1945. Although her right to the space is the crux of the lawsuit, it seems Osman has a certain, lucrative end in mind. "It pains me to leave, but he must be reasonable," Osman says of her landlord, "I am accustomed to a certain lifestyle, and he cannot just throw me out." Ah, politics. [NYT]
