Here's a First Look at the Now-Boxy 250 East 57th Street

New, 8 comments

You may remember 250 East 57th Street as the planned tower with the crazy, tapering design that was done by Roger Duffy of SOM. However, developers World Wide Group ended up switching out Duffy's inventive design for a much more mundane version from SLCE. And now, thanks to a tipster who was able to get some shots through the window of the development's as-of-yet-unopened sales office, we can see what that building will look like. While it's certainly less interesting than its predecessor, it would be hard to argue that the glassy 59-story tower doesn't fit in with its surroundings.
