$11.5M Park Ave. Triplex Penthouse Has Murals, Massive Deck

New, 27 comments

Settle down, children, for the story of retired physician Michael Fedak and his wife, retired chief investment officer Marilyn G. Fedak. Because they spend more time at homes in Boca and Greenwich, they just listed their glamorously Old-World triplex penthouse on Park Avenue for $11.5 million. The 3BR/2.5BA apartment between 67th and 68th streets has specially commissioned murals on the ceilings of the dining room, library, rotunda and other rooms, as well as an original Art Deco banister and an intricate trompe l'oeil-style private elevator landing. Art abounds in niches, on the walls, in the bathrooms, and on the roof deck—a 3,000-square-foot outdoor oasis with a wet bar, dining area and lots of palms that the Times notes can fit "100 merrymakers." Don't feel too bad for the Fedaks, though, since they own another apartment in the building that they currently use for a gym and billiards room; that will become their pied-a-terre in the city after this place (cross your fingers!) sells.
