Development around the High Line is inescapable; there's action on the High Line, below the High Line, and around the High Line. Two projects that fall into the latter category sit at nos. 500 and 551 on West 21st Street, and New York YIMBY recently checked up on their progress. 500 West 21st, pictured above, is all topped out and on track for completion by the end of the year. The Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed building is starting to look a lot like its rendering, with even the curvy penthouse windows plainly visible. The building's 32 units hit the market in February, and currently all but two are in contract.
Down the block at no. 551, Norman Foster's 19-story building is nearing its peak. The building sits closer to the river, so its been storm-proofed with flood gates. It will hold 44 condos, and the sky pool-equipped penthouse is currently seeking a buyer for $50 million. Click through to YIMBY for more photos:
