Unrenovated UES House Worth $14M More Than in 2010

New, 4 comments

An Upper East Side townhouse built in 1883 has sold to an anonymous LLC for $23.5 million, reports TRD—that's two and a half times more than what it sold for in 2010. As if that's not asinine enough, it appears that the previous owners have done nothing to merit the price hike, especially not a renovation. The towering manse sold with the same, tired shots it did four years ago. The 23-foot-wide townhouse at 51 East 80th Street between Madison and Park avenues has been home to five owners barring its most recent sale, with its previous owner paying a mere $9.425 million for the stately home. The townhouse has five bedrooms, not counting the entire fifth floor which is designated as staff quarters.
