The Eero Saarinen-designed TWA terminal at JFK is going to get revamped into a hotel, goshdarnit, even if Standard scion Andre Balazs isn't going to lead the charge. New bids in response to Port Authority's request for proposals are due on October 14, and folks including JetBlue, Marriott, and mega-developer Related Companies are likely throwing their hats in the ring. The swooping, futuristic structure closed in 2001 and has had a restoration and asbestos abatement since then, but turning it into a hotel was apparently too complex for Balazs.
