In the Rezone

New, 6 comments

The 23-story tower rising on Flatbush Avenue in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens (pictured, click for big) faced major opposition from neighbors for its height and size—but developers won out and it's on the rise already. But at least nine other residential buildings are in progress in PLG, making nearby residents even more concerned about density and affordability issues. To top it off, a proposal to rezone part of Empire Boulevard in order to convert warehouses into affordable housing isn't helping matters. Brace for a brawl between advocates and detractors.
