New York's construction boom is particularly salient amongst the city's 105 higher learning institutions. "Higher-education may be the largest individual sector in the city doing this much construction," the president of the New York Building Congress told WSJ. This year, spending on higher education construction will surpass $2 billion, and is expected to continue at that level for the next three years.
