Robert De Niro Rents A-Rod's Old Pad in 15 Central Park West

New, 17 comments

Actor Robert De Niro was forced to move out of his apartment in the Brentmoore in 2012, when the fifth floor unit caught on fire. But now he will return to Central Park West, as the Post reports that he is renting the most expensive apartment, steel magnate Leroy Schecter's 35th-floor combo, in the city's most expensive building, 15 Central Park West. He will pay $125,000/month.

Schecter originally listed the combined nos. 35A and 35B (which do not, as the Post is reporting, take up the entire 35th floor, although they are huge) for $95 million, later chopping the price down to $65 million. Schecter also used to rent the apartment to disgraced baseball star Alex Rodriguez for $30,000/month [edit: A-Rod only rented no. 35B, before the two apartments were combined], which means, if the rumors are to be believed, that a lot of high class prostitutes have come through this place.
