Gansevoort St. Retailer To Move; NYC's Largest Indoor Flea

Now, the latest from Racked NY, shopping and retail from the sidewalks up...

1) Chelsea: The Museum at FIT is exhibiting a collection of dance-inspired fashion that dates from the mid 1800's to present. The show is on display until January 3.

2) Meatpacking District: Fashion label Theory will open some new offices. In addition to those already above their flagship store at 40 Gansevoort Street—you know, that brick building with a glass canopy on the corner of the cobblestoney part of the street—they will take over some room at the nearby, landmarked 2 Gansevoort Street. The label will occupy 79,000 square feet at the new space, including a section of the ground floor and the whole second, third, and fourth floors.

3) Midtown West: The city's largest indoor antiques market, NYC Big Flea, will take over Pier 94 on September 27 and 28. The market will include over 600 vendors spread throughout the pier's 140,000 square feet. If the event is successful, it could become quarterly starting next fall.

4) Everywhere: Oh Ricky's, that ubiquitous New York City purveyor of, well, everything alt beauty-centric. As if their reach were not far enough, the brand expands this time of year to welcome a slew of Halloween pop-up shops that "makes shopping for Manic Panic and sexy nurse costumes more convenient than ever." Racked's put together a walking guide. Ready, set, go.
