The Real Douglas Elliman's Lovely UES Home Sells For $14.8M

New, 2 comments

The 8-bedroom Upper East Side home that Douglas Elliman, founder of the eponymous brokerage firm, commissioned from S.E. Gage in 1909 has just sold for $14.8 million, TRD reports. Although the home at 177 East 71st Street did not quite achieve the $18 million it set out to net when first put on the market with (no joke) Brown Harris Stevens, the Neo-Federal red brick townhouse is no less lovely for it. The sale on behalf of (again) Stribling comes just one week shy of the home's one year on-the-market anniversary.
