With the two-year anniversary of devastating Superstorm Sandy looms ahead and many city residents still struggling, the city got a bit of reprieve from the feds yesterday. New York and New Jersey are getting $3.3 billion in aid that will help prepare transportation systems for future storms. In the city, much of the money will go towards shoring up the subway's infrastructure, specifically, flood-proofing rail yards, stations and equipment.
