Two producers dropped millions of dollars to renovate the decrepit Forest Hills Tennis Stadium into a concert venue, and it's been "a magic thing" for them to see the crowds at shows over the last two summers. But the neighbors disagree. The concerts are sometimes three times louder than legal limits, and the stadium has been fined multiple times. The owners, however, plan to work with the DEP and install sound-dampening features to help quiet things down. [NYT; previously]
