Today, City Planning will vote on the zoning change requested by the developers of Astoria Cove which will allow five mixed-use buildings with 1,700 new apartments to rise on the Hallets Cove peninsula between 4th and 9th streets. The developer has currently earmarked 20 percent of the Astoria Cove's housing as affordable, despite community cries for the commitment of 50 percent of the development's housing as affordable.
