Luxury real estate developer Anbau Enterprises has unveiled renderings for the SHoP-designed tower they're bringing to First Avenue between 88th and 89th streets. The building at 1711 First Avenue will rise 34 stories and contain 78 apartmentsNew York YIMBY reports they'll be condosof the one- to four-bedroom variety that range in size from 875 to 2,850 square feet. The building will have ground-floor retail that will be "tailored to the building's amenity program," which may include an indoor basketball court, as well as a 29-spot garage with a robotic parking system. The building is being touted by the company as "affordable luxury," although what constitutes "affordable" seems to be up for debate.
Four low-rises will be cleared cleared to make room for the building. Foundation work at the site should begin in January, and the tower should be finished by the end of 2016.
