'Street Seats' in Downtown Brooklyn; Garbage Station Protest

New, 1 comment

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN—The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership has teamed up with FANTÁSTICA to bring some "Street Seats" to the side streets heading into MetroTech Center. The seats are currently installed at 111 Lawrence Street and 360 Bridge Street, but are designed to be modular and will move around to different DoBro locations over the next year. UPPER EAST SIDE—Pledge 2 Protect, the group funneling piles of money into an effort to halt the progress of the Upper East Side Marine Transfer Station, is organizing a protest tomorrow afternoon featuring, in the words of their strategic consulting firm, "several hundred mostly Black and Latino kids from public housing." The protest will, the group surely hopes, help to change the optics of the debate in which they have, so far, not come off in the best light. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
