Board President Kindly Lets Hedge Funder Buy Penthouse

New, 8 comments

The penthouse with the incredible wraparound terraces in 1107 Fifth Avenue was originally going to be purchased by Peruvian billionaire Carlos Rodriguez Pastor, but he backed out of the deal following some shenanigans from the co-op board president, Maureen Klinsky, who had wanted to buy the apartment for herself (but didn't offer nearly as much money as Pastor did). Now, the Daily News reports, the penthouse has sold instead to hedge funder Mark Kingdon, who just closed on the insanely nice four-bedroom pad for $30.9 million. Either Klinsky has given up on getting the place for herself, or Klingdon is in for a fun time.
