The Parkwood Realty Associates-developed 158 West 83rd Street, between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues, is set to hit the rental market with seven studio apartments starting at $2,700/month, 14 one-bedroom apartments starting at $3,500/month, and a two-bedroom apartment with a private 850-square-foot terrace that's going for $6,000/month. The 22 apartments are located in a modernish-looking, mostly glass, four-story addition above the previously existing Crunch Gym (a former 19th century post office). The architect for the addition, according to public records, is Adrian Figueroa of SRA Architecture & Engineering. Building amenities include a landscaped roof deck, virtual doorman, on-site laundry room and dedicated package room. And, of course, easy access to the Crunch Gym (which, hopefully, will have better soundproofing than other gyms located directly under apartments have had in the past). The building is expected to be completed in November.
