The High Line has made a lot of real estate developers a lot of money, and the property owners who signed away their development rights to help create the elevated park felt like they missed out. So they filed a lawsuit seeking compensation from the federal government for the land and rights that they gave up, but the Supreme Court ruled that the owners gave up their right to sue when they signed an agreement with the city to create the park.
