Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!
This "Mediterranean-style" house, located in the Fieldston Historic District, first hit the market in 2009, asking an incredibly ambitious $3.8 million. It subsequently saw its price reduced numerous times and was eventually taken off the market in 2012, after failing to sell for $2.89 million. Now it's back, though, and the owner seems more serious about selling this time around as the asking price has hit a new low of $2.5 million. The highlights include a master suite with a separate office (with skylight) and deck, an expansive and open living area bordered by windows, and privacy—the back of the house faces a three-acre wooded area.
