City Council is set to have a hearing on the safety of apartment-sharing website Airbnb, but only as it relates to escaping from fires. The FDNY recently gave an affidavit in which it criticized the service for failing to offer users a "detailed fire-safety and evacuation plan," and Councilman Ben Kallos says that the Council needs to make sure Airbnb isn't "allowing listings that cram too many tourists into apartments far too small to guarantee their safe escape from danger."
