Given the somewhat dubious reputation developer Blackhouse has, it seemed unlikely that the "Chinese lantern"-esque condo-hotel the company was working on within the Hudson Yards area would ever come to fruition. But it's partnered with Chinese private equity firm Kuafu Properties as well as Siras Development on the project, and via the city's building incentive programs, the team is now seeking to shell out $31.6 million for development rights, which could bring the building up to 300,000 square feet. About a quarter of a million of that would be dedicated to the Hudson Rise Hotel, and then there'd be 42 apartments. [TRD; previously]
