Falling Debris From 432 Park Avenue; Stella Tower Sales Check

MIDTOWN—A tipster alerted us to a new notice on 432 Park Avenue's Department of Buildings page: saying a "STOP WORK ORDER EXISTS ON THIS PROPERTY." Clicking through to the complaints section leads to one filed today that reveals an eight-foot pipe fell from one of the hoists on the 81st floor of the megatower. It landed across the street in front of an occupied building. Then there's the ominous "STOPALLWORK." 432 Park reps have no comment. Anyone in Midtown at the time see anything? Tell us. HELL'S KITCHEN—Stella Tower, Walker Tower's Art Deco little sister, has a new model unit. It's a 2BR/2.5BA, and they needed it because the old model sold for $4 million. A nice problem to have? As for the rest of sales, 37 units out of 51 have signed contracts, and the average price per square foot is more than $2,000. Some apartments sold for more than $3,000 per square foot, which is high for the area. Closings and move-ins have already begun, an impressive feat at a project that only kicked off in 2012 and moved into gear with a sales launch and construction in 2014.
