Williamsburg's Yotel Will Look Like a 14-Story Piece of Sushi

New, 6 comments

Behold the newly-unveiled design for Williamsburg's Yotel, which looks stunningly similar to a seaweed-wrapped sushi roll. The design by HWKN beat out CetraRuddy's whacky, stacked boxes for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway-adjacent site on Lorimer and Jackson streets. TRD reports that the building will have ground floor retail, a BQE-level garden on which floor the hotel will begin (presumably the seaweed), and will be topped by six to eight condos (presumably the rice). The hotel aims to open in 2017.
