$100 Million One57 PH Officially Closes, Breaks NYC Record

New, 21 comments

The Manhattan record for most expensive condo has been broken once again, with the announcement that a One57 penthouse has officially closed for $100.5 million, according to city records spotted yesterday by The Real Deal.

The duplex penthouse is 10,923 square feet and spread across the 89th and 90th floors. Although the sale was first announced way back in May 2012, it only officially closed on December 23, 2014. Unfortunately, the identity of the supervillain-like buyer is protected by an LLC.

The sale at One57 effectively shatters the previous record for priciest condo sale. That distinction was held by the 22-year-old daughter of fertilizer king Dmitry Rybolovlev, after she purchased the penthouse at 15 Central Park West for $88 million back in 2012.

The news comes despite a noticeable slowdown in sales at One57 at the end of last year. No word yet on how "fun" the sale may or may not have been.
