Developer Erik Ekstein has already filed plans to demolish the historic Madison Avenue Baptist Church's parish house at 30 East 31st Street, but there's just one problem: the management of neighboring condo M127 is refusing to let Ekstein's construction workers inside to perform necessary prep work. Now, Ekstein has filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, demanding that M127's board allow the work to move forward. According to DNAinfo, Ekstein needs access to M127's roof, side yard and backyard, in order to install city-mandated protections (including scaffolding). The entire demolition and construction process is expected to cost $90 million. [DNAinfo; previously]
