Last week, a pipe fell from the 81st story of the tallest residential building in the western hemisphere. So the Department of Buildings slapped the very square 432 Park Avenue with a stop-work order. Even though there still some outstanding penalties and active violations on 432 Park's official DOB website, Dezeen reports that construction is once again proceeding on Raphael Vinoly's tower that can be seen from everywhere: "An inspection of all six hoist cars was conducted by the installation company the following day. The order was then 'fully rescinded,' allowing work to resume." [Dezeen/DOB; previously]
