Perhaps HAP EIGHT Won't Be So Normal-Looking After All

New, 23 comments

HAP EIGHT, heretofore known as the one relatively restrained HAP building (in that it's the one not being designed by Karim Rashid), now has a totally-outside-the-box Karim Rashid design of its own. NY YIMBY uncovered a couple renderings of the 215 West 28th Street building as conceived by Rashid, where the structure appears to be both bubbling and leaning away from the street wall. HAP's official website, meanwhile, is still displaying the other, fairly normal design from WASA/Studio A, so it's not clear whether this Rashid rendering is an alternate that has already been cast aside, or a new design that HAP is actually considering. We're all better for having seen it, though.
