Brownstoner was granted access to the former SteelWorks Lofts building in Williamsburg, now renamed the Lewis Steel Building (developer Jake Toll, son of one of the Toll Brothers, apparently chickened out of naming it The Lebowski), and got a look at some of the preserved industrial elements, mostly in the form of exposed original brick. The conversion is very nearly finished, and Toll told 'Stoner that the apartments will hit the rental market in May with prices starting at $3,000 for studios, $3,500 for one-bedrooms, and $4,500 for two-bedrooms.
