Colorful, Eclectic East Village Townhouse Asks $8.3 Million

New, 4 comments

This townhouse at 4 East 2nd Street is currently configured into four units, but it's being delivered vacant so a conversion to a single-family mansion is a possibility. Hopefully the new owner won't renovate it into utter normalcy, though, because the exposed brick, exposed beams, and wide-plank floors lend it a certain undeniable charm that's enhanced by the wacky decor. One unit is basically a big child's playroom, while another features a coat of Pepto-Bismol pink paint of the ceiling beams and what is essentially a wraparound balcony kitchen overlooking the living room. The house last sold to an LLC for $2.9 million in 2005 and is now asking $8.3 million.
