Williamsburg's Apple Store Will Not Be A Glass Cube

New, 10 comments

After years of rumors, an Apple store is really truly coming to Brooklyn. In December, it was reported that the tech giant will open an outpost at 247 Bedford Avenue in Wiliamsburg, and now New York YIMBY has the first renderings of what the store will look like. Those hoping for some super cool contemporary space like the Fifth Avenue glass cube will be disappointed. The Williamsburg outpost looks like it will be a renovation of the existing low-rise brick building. However, these renderings, created by Marin Architects, aren't a sure thing—they were created before Apple was announced as a tenant, so Apple may have other ideas for the building's design.

UPDATE: Though a renovation of the existing building was previously reported, Curbed commenters say that work has already started and it will be new construction.
