After hedge fund founder Thomas Gilbert was (allegedly) shot and killed by his son Thomas Gilbert Jr. in Sr.'s posh Beekman Place apartment, the question every journalistic outlet tabloid tried to answer was, "Why?" Apparently, 30-year-old Tommy was incensed over his dad's threat to downsize his weekly allowance, possibly including the $2,400/month used for rent on his Chelsea apartment (pictured).
