What/Where: Renovated two-bedroom, one-bathroom (technically a one-bedroom with an office) on the fifth floor of a Lower East Side co-op building
Maintenance: $420

The one major drawback of this place is that it's a fifth-floor walk-up, which is no small thing. But setting aside all the exercise you'd be getting, it's a very charming little apartment. A recent renovation has left it with an open living room, lots of closets, high ceilings, and a skylight with motorized blinds. There's also a washer/dryer in the unit, a private storage room next door, and a communal roof deck.
