Ira Gershwin's UWS Penthouse With Huge Terrace Seeks $6M

New, 10 comments

It doesn't matter if you've got rhythm—as long as you've got cash, you can own famed lyricist Ira Gershwin's former penthouse on the Upper West Side. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom penthouse at 33 Riverside Drive went on the market for $6 million, and now photos are available via Elliman, who's handling the sale. The most impressive feature is the enormous wraparound terrace, providing stunning views of the city and the Hudson River. (According to the Post, which reported the sale, Ira's brother George owned the penthouse next door—how quaint.) In addition to the enormous outdoor space, the apartment has plenty of storage space, a formal living and dining room (good for entertaining, of course), and a guest room that has its own bathroom and washer-dryer unit. It's a lovely space—you could even say "'S Wonderful." (Sorry.)
