This 57th Street Apartment Is Asking Way Less Than $1B

New, 21 comments

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

The listing for Billy Joel's Excelsior apartment was an unwelcomed blast out of the 1980s past; thankfully, this cute one-bedroom in the East 57th Street building doesn't follow suit. The 12th-floor apartment has been looking for an owner for a while now—as was Joel's until it finally sold for $1.3 million to someone willing to brave its mirrored abyss—and a serious of pricechops have brought this lovely little renovated pad's ask down to a mere $520,000. Included: an updated kitchen with the Cribs-style amenity of a refrigerator exclusively for drinks (or so it appears), tons of closets, and a legit bedroom. Bonus: its furnishings are also up for grabs.
